Thinly slice 1 large orange into 6 to 8 rounds.

Gently muddle 1 cup fresh blackberries and 6 sage leaves in the bottom of a large pitcher, pressing just enough to release juices and oils without crushing to pulp.

Add the orange slices and 1/2 cup orange juice to the pitcher, then stir gently to combine.

Pour in 750 ml dry red wine and 1/3 cup brandy, stirring thoroughly to blend flavors.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.

Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over, including some fruit in each glass.
