Fill a large pot with 1 inch of water and bring to a boil. Add sliced carrots, cover, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until fork-tender but not mushy.

Pour carrots into a colander to drain out all water. Set aside.

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir until fully dissolved and mixture is glossy.

Return carrots to the pot. Toss well for about 5 minutes over medium heat until coated and shiny.

Transfer glazed carrots to a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
