Place a non-stick frying pan over low to medium heat, allowing it to reach temperature before adding ingredients.

Spread unsalted butter evenly on the outside of each frozen waffle.

Spread cream cheese generously on the inside of one waffle using a butter knife.

On the inside of the second waffle, spread a layer of jam or fruit spread.

Press the two waffles together with the filling sides meeting to form a sandwich.

Place the sandwich in the preheated frying pan, buttered side down. Cook for 4 minutes or until golden brown.

Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula. Cook the opposite side for an additional 4 minutes, until both sides are crisp and golden.
